Tired of losing fights in MultiVersus? Then the answer is simple, you might need to pick a different character the next time you fight, preferably one that is ranked very high in our MultiVersus tier list that you will find below.
We’ve all been there, getting our behind kicked by someone better than us in MultiVersus. Most of the time we immediately think that the fault for losing a fight was the character that we picked.
And yeah, that’s a possibility, even if you’re a MultiVersus pro and a skilled fighter, the reality is that some characters perform better than others, especially when it comes to competitive plays, Evo tournaments, etc.
There are a lot of changes that happened in patch 1.02 and we’re excited to share them with you!
The first thing to note is that our MultiVersus tier list has been split into two separate lists: one for 1v1 fights and another one for 2v2. We’ve heard your feedback on this topic, so we decided to split it up this way.
November 18, 2022: We have added new characters to our MultiVersus Tier List.
So let’s check out the tier lists now:
MultiVersus Tier List 1v1
We believe that the following MultiVersus characters are the best in 1v1 fights, especially when it comes to competitive play and tournaments.
|S||Batman, Bugs Bunny, Harley Quinn, Stripe, Shaggy|
|A||Arya Stark, Finn the Human, Jake The Dog, Morty, Rick, Superman|
|B||Black Adam, Reindog, Steven Universe, Taz, Tom And Jerry|
|C||Garnet, Gizmo, LeBron James, Wonder Woman|
|D||Iron Giant, Velma|
As you can see, an interesting thing about our Multiversus 1v1 tier list is that support characters rank lower on this list because of their role.
Sure in 2v2, they are formidable support allies for others, but fighting alone against a fighter from the top tier is more than likely to end up in a loss for the support fighter such as Velma, Steven, or Reindog.
So while they can still inflict some damage to their opponents, and have plenty o combos, they are simply not enough to win most fights with ease.

MultiVersus Tier List 2v2
In our MultiVersus 2v2 tier list things change, and we suddenly see a lot of support characters ranking higher than before.
That is simply because when they are paired with an excellent fighter that has great abilities, they become great allies in buffing and supporting them through their various skills. Thus they become invaluable to any MultiVersus 2v2 team.
|S||Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Velma, Shaggy|
|A||Stripe, Finn the human, Jake the dog, Wonder Woman, Batman, Reindog, Morty|
|B||Rick, Taz, Iron giant, Superman, Arya Stark, Harley Quinn|

MultiVersus Characters Ranking Meaning
If you’re wondering what each rank means on our MultiVersus tier list, then here are some quick descriptions:
- S Tier – This is considered to be the top tier and it is comprised of MultiVersus characters who have demonstrated dominance in their abilities and can easily win matches against most opponents.
- A Tier – Characters in this tier are also considered to be top-notch and they perform very well in most situations. However, they are not quite as dominant or versatile as those in S Tier.
- B Tier – This is also known as the middle tier and it includes characters who have some strengths but also some weaknesses. They may find difficulty against strong characters or certain tactics but can still compete with success against other middle-tier opponents.
- C Tier – Characters in this tier are considered to be below average when it comes to performance. They may have some strengths but also many weaknesses, making them less than ideal choices for competitive play.
- D Tier – The last tier is known as the bottom tier and it includes characters who are considered to be the worst performers in the game. They lack any real usefulness or viability and are typically only used in casual matches or to have some fun.

MultiVersus Tier List: Final Thoughts
We know you’re busy, and you’re likely happier to just play the game than researching stats and guides online, so that is why we have created a MultiVersus tier list that will make it easy for you to find the best characters without the additional fluff and explanations about their abilities, combos, etc.
Our MultiVersus tier list is a general guide to the strength of each character in competitive play, but it’s important to remember that no tier list can ever truly define who will win in any given matchup.
Placement on the tier list reflects a character’s competitive viability for competitive and tournament play and does not reflect skill level.
No character is inherently better than any other, but you can play well or poorly with any of them. The one who plays their MultiVersus fighter best will usually win.
This tier list will be updated on a regular basis to reflect any changes in the game brought about by new patches, character releases, and updates. We have certainly seen some changes to this tier list with the latest MultiVersus patch (1.02).

MultiVersus – Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re not familiar with tier lists, they are essentially a way of ranking the strength of characters in a game. They are usually broken down into tiers, with each tier being assigned to a specific group of characters that generally share similar attributes. So if you’re looking to pick just one MultiVersus character to main and learn all their abilities and movements and win more games, then you probably need a tier list to guide you to some characters that can perform better than others once you become proficient with them.
This tier list is based on competitive play and general consensus among players. Competitive play can mean many things, but in this case, it refers to tournaments such as the EVO one where players are fighting for prize money or other rewards. But we also took into account ranked online matches where players are trying to climb the ladder and some suggestions from the Discord Server and MultiVersus Reddit community.
This is a tricky question, as MultiVersus is a fighting game that’s totally dependent on player skill. That said though, there are a couple of characters that show up more consistently in high ladder matches or in tournament plays and those are Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, Bugs Bunny, Superman, and Velma.
