Check out our 2024 Genshin Impact Tier List. Start winning more battles by using the best Genshin Impact characters.

Genshin Impact is a great RPG that you can take on the go on your phone but also can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home and play it on the PC. It reminds us of old-school open-world RPGs, but obviously with a more modern polish.

If you want to clear Genshin Impact content with ease, however, you will need to select only the best characters for your team. Well, luckily for you that’s exactly what you’re going to find out on this page. We’ve put together a list where we have ranked every character in Genshin Impact from best to worst.

Here’s a short intro of what each ranking tier means:

Genshin Impact Tier List Ranking Meaning

S Tier – These are the best characters in Genshin Impact. They are somewhat overpowered, and they excel at pretty much every aspect of the game. These are your priority, invest in them as soon as possible.

A Tier – Up next we have the A Tier characters, these are still pretty good Genshin Impact characters to use, and they perform very well in this current game meta.

B Tier – Not the best overall heroes, but still not the worst either.

C Tier – Not really worth playing with these Genshin Impact heroes.

D Tier – Don’t even think of playing or investing in these characters, as they aren’t that great and you might be wasting your currency and resources for nothing good.

Alright now that’s cleared, let’s go ahead and check out our tier list for Genshin Impact:

How Did We Create the Genshin Impact Tier List?

So as with all our tier lists, we tried to do as much research as possible when creating this Genshin Impact tier list. We have browsed various community forums, subreddits, discord servers, YouTube videos and of course consulted with players in-game and our own gameplay experience.

This is mostly based on the overall PvE aspect of the game, but most of the top tier Genshin Impact characters (S-A tiers) will also be worth using in PvP battles.

Overall we believe these to be a pretty accurate Genshin Impact tier list for the current game meta.

Don’t take this bulletproof as 100% accurate though, because what works for some players might not work for others. Also as the game progresses and gets new updates, the meta with the best Genshin Impact characters will change, so this tier list will be updated from time to time.

Genshin Impact Best Characters

What we focused on when ranking the characters:

  • Role
  • Base Stats
  • Elemental Skills
  • Burst
  • DPS
  • Healing

We focused our attention a lot on the character’s elemental skills and burst. So the faster each character can trigger or swap to them, the higher we rated them.

So, here are what we think are the best characters in their respective role:

DPS characters: Klee, Diluc, Ganyu, Tartaglia, Xiao
Sub DPS characters: Albedo, Venti, Ganyu, Fischl, Xingqiu
Support characters: Venti, Bennet, Zhongli, Diona, Jean

When creating your Genshin Impact team, keep in mind every character’s role and how well their elemental skills synergize with the rest.

What is Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact is a massive open-world action RPG game developed by miHoYo, the makers of the super-popular action RPG: Honkai Impact 3rd.

The game takes place in a world named Teyvat, a vast land that is home to seven nations. Each of these nations is tied to a specific element and god.

You control a team of four characters, and you can swap between them quickly to use special combinations of skills called elemental reactions to defeat your foes faster.

Each Genshin Impact character has its own set of two unique skills: elemental and burst.

The elements are Pyro, Cryo, Anemo, Electro, Geo, and Dendro, and they can all interact with each other in various ways, so use these elemental combinations to your advantage when fighting.

Genshin Impact also offers players superb visuals with an amazing art style that we have already got familiar with a bit in their previous game: Honkai Impact. Oh, by the way, check out our Honkai Impact tier list if you’re already playing that game. They get some bonus points for implementing weather that changes over time, not that many games implement this subtle but more immersive gameplay feature.

So if you like open-world action RPGs, and if you are already a fan of Honkai Impact, well then you should give Genshin Impact a try.

The game is available on all major platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows, Playstation, and soon on Nintendo Switch as well.

Update: 02/03/2021 – We’ve also added Xiao, he goes straight to S tier, as it seems he’s a great attacker with a good crit rate and DPS output.
