This year’s edition of the Mobile Games Awards 2022 has given out a couple of awards to some of the best mobile games in the industry. The overall winner with the title of Game of the Year goes to Beatstar – Touch the Music.
The game developed by Space Ape Games has surprisingly won over other popular finalists such as Another Eden, Cookie Run: Gindom, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, PUBG, and more.
In order to win Game of the Year, all titles should have been released in 2021, and feature amazing and creative gameplay, innovation, and achieve an overall huge success with a high number of installs.
Genshin Impact has won this year’s Best Audio/Visual award. The game has impressive visuals and an amazing soundtrack that makes players get more immersed in the game.
The Pocket Gamer People’s Choice Award has been won by Cookie Run: Kingdom, developed by Devsisters.
This award is exclusively in the hands of the players, as they can vote and decide which mobile game deserves the win the most.
So, naturally, PocketGamer has held multiple submission and voting stages, and Cookie Run: Kingdom has edged and took home the win over games such as:
- Doctor Who
- League of Legends: Wild Rift
- Runestrike
- Pokemon United
- Tales of Luminaria
- and more…
Perhaps another surprising win in this year’s Mobile Games Awards is that of Kwalee, which wins the Best Publisher of the year award.
The company founded by former Codemasters CEO – David Darling, has won over some fierce competition in the likes of Gameloft, NetEase, Netmarble, Tencent, Zynga, and more.
Daniel Gray from UsTwo Games has become the Mobile Legend of the year, winning this award for the huge success that he’s had with titles such as Monument Valley 2, Alba, and Land’s End.
The Mobile Games Awards 2022 have been held at the BAFTA venue in Picadilly, London.
We can’t wait to see what nominees we get for the next year’s award with so many new and exciting mobile games being released in 2022.
