Hi there, you’re probably looking to smash some zombies that are roaming your garden. Well in that case, then you need to check out our Plants vs Zombies tier list to see which are the best PvZ1 plants in the game.

For the uninitiated, Plants vs Zombies is a tower defense game where you use plants to defend your home from zombies.

With so many plants available at your disposal from the base game and also the DLCs, there are a lot of combinations that can be used to create an effective front line.

So below you can find out our very own Plants vs Zombies tier list (for the first generation of the game) that you can use to decide which plants to use in your PvZ garden.

We have ranked the plants in our PvZ tier list from best (S-tier) to worst (E-tier).

Enjoy:

Best Plants vs Zombies Plants – Tier S

best Plants vs Zombies plants

These plants are the best in their class. They’re versatile and can fill any role in your deck, from offense to defense. They also fit in perfectly with any strategy you want to run, whether it’s defensive or aggressive. These plants are great for PvZ beginners and veterans alike:

  • Imitater
  • Wintermelon
  • Cattail
  • Gloom-Shroom
  • Cob Cannon

Plants vs Zombies – Tier A Plants

Plants vs Zombies - Tier A Plants

The following tier of plants is the A-tier. These are good plants that can take you all the way to the end of the game. They can clear every stage with ease, however, they do fall behind the S-tier plants ones only so slightly.

  • Cherry Bomb
  • Doom-Shroom
  • Gatling Pea
  • Melon-Pult
  • Puff-Shroom
  • Pumpkin
  • Spikerock
  • Squash
  • Starfruit

These are great all-rounders and some of them can be used as a substitute if you don’t have an S-tier plant on hand.

Plants vs Zombies – Tier B Plants

Plants vs Zombies - Tier B Plants

Tier B plants are your middle-of-the-road plants. They’re not bad, but they’re also not great. They have their ups and downs. The best example of this is Tall-nut, who can be extremely useful when paired with other defensive plants, but who can only do so much in solo situations.

Here’s a list of all tier B Plants:

  • Fune-Shroom
  • Garlic
  • Jalapeno
  • Magnet-Shroom
  • Potato Mine
  • Repeater
  • Sea-Shroom
  • Snow Pea
  • Tall-Nut
  • Torchowood

Plants vs Zombies – Tier C Plants

Plants vs Zombies - Tier C Plants

Tier C plants are below average, but while they aren’t the best out there, they also aren’t the absolute worst. So you can still use some of these in your PvZ1 garden for a couple of easy levels.

  • Blover
  • Hypno-Shroom
  • Ice-Shroom
  • Kernel-Pult
  • Spikeweed
  • Split Pea
  • Tangle Kelp
  • Threepeater
  • Wall-Nut

Tier D Plants

Tier D PvZ1 Plants

Tier D Plants are pretty bad. They’re the bottom of the barrel, really. These plants aren’t particularly good, but they still have some redeemable qualities that make them worth using on occasion.

Plants in this tier include:

  • Cabbage-Pult
  • Chomper
  • Scaredy-Shroom

Tier E Plants

worst plants in PVZ1

Tier F plants are kinda pathetic and should never be used. They’re so bad that they’ll probably lose you the game if you use them in a real match. I’d rather be eaten by zombies than using these guys.

  • Cactus
  • Peashooter

What is Plants vs Zombies?

Plants vs Zombies is a game that everyone should play at least once. It’s one of the best games on the market, and it has been for years.

The game is incredibly easy to pick up, but it also has a lot of strategy and depth for players who want more out of their experience. The plants in the game are also fantastic; there are many different kinds, each with its own unique abilities, so you can always find something new to try out.

Plants vs Zombies was created by PopCap Games as an fun alternative to the tower defense games genre, but they have added unique twists to it such as lane traps, zombies, and…of course, PLANTS. Funny, but mean zombie-hating plants!

You should definitely play this game often – even if you don’t think about playing other titles from this genre in the future (like Plants vs Zombies 2).
