What is Eternal Return?
For those of you unfamiliar with Eternal Return, here’s a very quick introduction.
Formerly known as Eternal Return Black Survival, the game is a mix of MOBA, battle royale, and survival that will test a player’s skill, strategy ,and also game knowledge.
What’s more important though is the Eternal Return character that you’re going to be using, and also its weapon type.
There are over 50 characters that are available to be used in Eternal Return Black Survival, each of them with its own passive, basic, and ultimate abilities.
You can simply start winning more games by choosing one of the best Eternal Return characters and their best weapon. So that’s why we have created this Eternal Return tier list where we rank the survivors (or test subjects) from the very best (S-tier) to the worst (D-Tier).

Eternal Return Tier List for Season 7 Meta in 2023
The following Eternal Return tier list rankings are made with the platinum and above ranks in mind, and only for solo play.
Sure, you can still get wins in other ranks using these characters or even in pre-made teams, but this list is more optimal for platinum and above solo play.

Eternal Return Tier List: S Characters
The S-tier Eternal Return characters are simply the best in the game for the current game meta in season 7. Keep in mind though that while these are the best in solo play in platinum ranks (and above), they might do a bit differently in lower ranks or when playing with a squad.

These are also very good Eternal Return survivors that you can use to climb the solo ladder. Make sure you use their recommended weapon though if you want to make the best out of their abilities and unique perks.

Tier B Characters
Moving on down on our Eternal Return Black Survival tier list, we encounter the B-tier characters which are just average, meaning that while they can win games here and there, it won’t be as easy as with tier S or A ones.
Still, with proper support and a bit of strategy and team play, you can make these test subjects viable.

Eternal Return: Tier C
These are below-average Eternal Return test subjects, so they have very limited uses and are only good in certain situations. If you want easier wins you should probably stick to the ones from higher ranks, unless you really know what you’re doing and know how to play with them.

Eternal Return: Tier D Characters
And finally, we have the Tier D characters and their weapons. In our opinion, these are the weakest test subjects in the game’s current meta. We really don’t recommend you make one of these your Eternal Return main character.

How We Created This Eternal Return Tier List?
We build our tier lists using an objective and repeatable process: for each list, we extensively play the game and analyze which characters are overpowered (or underpowered).
But in addition to that we have also checked out a couple of major leaderboards with stats from players of all ranks, and solo play only.
We scoured Eternal Return online communities, such as the official Discord server and Reddit page, for feedback from players about this season’s characters and meta.
So, we compiled the information from our research into this Eternal Return tier list for you to use when playing the game.
We understand though that no tier list can be perfect and that we all have our differences and unique play styles.
Some pro players may win games easily even with a lower-ranked character, so it’s all subjective. But as it stands, we think that this is a pretty accurate Eternal Return Black Survival tier list for this current meta.
